Apple Peel and Core Tea

I found this apple peel and core tea out of my nature of insane laziness. At our house, we compost everything for our garden by putting it in a plastic tupperware, and then throwing it into the compost heap. We've recently acquired a composter, but no one has the time or know-how to use it yet so it stands in our garden looking like a very angry garden gnome.

Anyways, as I finished making my almost-weekly batch of applesauce, I felt really lazy. So lazy, that I didn't feel like opening the cabinet with the compost container and putting the apple cores and peels into it. But the internet, my laziness sidekick, offered me a different option to composting those peels at that moment. It suggested I put those peels and cores into a pot with water and boil it until I had a cider-like drink. In my head, I was thinking it would never work, but lo and behold, it did. And heres, how to do it.

Apple Peel and Core Tea
from Food52

Ingredients
the peels and cores of about 5 apples
4 cups water
2 1/2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Place everything in a big point and bring to a boil. Then, turn it down and let it simmer for an hour.

Taste, and add more sugar if you want it sweeter.

Then, strain the cores and peels out. Drink cold or hot.
